Our Methodology

How The GMAT Calculator Works

Drawing from decades of experience, our seasoned MBA Admissions coaches have decoded what truly secures acceptance into M7 and Ivy League MBA programs. Our MBA Admissions coaches have developed a proprietary algorithm that weighs multiple factors to determine the minimum score you need to complement your profile and strengthen your application to the M7, S10 or Top EU MBA programs.

10+ Candidate Profile Evaluation Criteria

Our GMAT Score Calculator evaluates you on 11 critical personal factors including age, citizenship, gender, industry background, years of experience, managerial experience, company type, GPA, advanced degrees, professional certifications, and target MBA program tier.

Crimson's Proprietary Weighted Scoring System

Each factor has a weight based on decades of admissions data and our coaches' expertise with top MBA programs. Thereby creating a truly personalized score recommendation that accounts for how MBA admissions committees evaluate candidates holistically.

Target-School Calibrated Results

Your recommended GMAT score is precisely calibrated to your desired MBA program tier (M7, Ivy League, Top 15, Top 15 EU etc.), ensuring you aim for a score that complements your specific background, maximizing your chances of acceptance.

FAQs

Discover answers to all your questions about application processes, school selection, and support in our comprehensive FAQ section. It's your go-to resource for clarity and guidance on your MBA journey.

How does the GMAT score calculator differentiate between different school tiers (M7, Top 10, etc.)?

Our proprietary algorithm contains specific calibration data for different program tiers, including separate weightings for M7 schools (Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, Columbia, and MIT Sloan), Top 10 programs, Top 15, and beyond. Each tier has distinct expectations for applicant profiles, and our calculator adjusts your recommended GMAT range accordingly. This school-specific calibration is what sets our calculator apart from generic GMAT estimators.

How does your GMAT score calculator differ from official GMAT practice test scores?

Official GMAT practice tests measure your current ability, while our calculator recommends the target score you should aim for based on your specific profile and school choices. Think of it as the difference between "where you are" and "where you need to be" for your dream MBA program.

How accurate is your estimated target GMAT score?

Our GMAT estimates are typically quite accurate, as they're generated by a sophisticated algorithm analysing 11 personal factors against a large dataset of successful MBA admissions and our coaches' deep experience. However, it’s still an estimate. Also, do know that GMAT scores are only one key indicator and not the only parameter of a successful MBA application.
